Caring for Your Seshades Products

Proper care can help keep your storage and organization products looking their best and suitable for everyday use.

Because Seshades offers different types of storage products, care requirements can vary by product, material, construction, and finish. Always review the individual product page and any care instructions supplied with your specific item before cleaning or maintaining it.

When specific product instructions differ from this general guide, follow the instructions provided for that product.

1.

General Care

For most Seshades storage products, regular light cleaning and careful handling are recommended.

Recommended:

  • Remove dust regularly.
  • Clean spills as soon as possible.
  • Handle products carefully when moving them.
  • Avoid placing items beyond the product's intended capacity.
  • Keep products in appropriate indoor environments unless the product specifically indicates otherwise.
  • Follow any product-specific care instructions provided.

Avoid:

  • Excessive moisture
  • Harsh cleaning chemicals
  • Abrasive cleaning materials
  • Excessive force
  • Sharp objects that could damage fabric or woven surfaces
  • Overloading the product
2.

Woven & Basket Storage

Woven baskets and similar storage products can collect dust and debris in their textured surfaces.

Routine Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth or soft brush to gently remove dust and loose debris.

For light surface cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth when appropriate for the product's material.

Do not saturate woven products with water.

Important

Excessive moisture may affect certain woven, fabric, or natural-looking materials and may contribute to changes in shape, texture, or finish.

Always allow a product to dry completely before returning items to it.

3.

Fabric Storage Products

Fabric storage products should generally be cleaned gently to help preserve their shape and appearance.

For routine maintenance:

  • Empty the organizer or storage container.
  • Remove dust and loose debris.
  • Gently wipe the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth if appropriate.
  • Allow the product to dry completely before using it again.

Avoid aggressive scrubbing or excessive moisture.

Do not use bleach, strong solvents, or harsh chemicals unless the specific product instructions expressly permit their use.

4.

Closet Organizers

For hanging closet organizers and similar products:

  • Avoid exceeding their intended storage capacity.
  • Distribute heavier items evenly where possible.
  • Make sure hanging straps or attachment points are properly positioned.
  • Check the organizer periodically for visible signs of wear.
  • Avoid placing sharp or unusually heavy objects inside.
  • Keep the organizer away from excessive moisture.

Before installing a hanging organizer, make sure the closet rod or supporting structure is appropriate for the intended load.

Seshades products should not be used in a manner that exceeds their intended purpose.

5.

Laundry Hampers

Laundry hampers should be used for their intended storage purpose and should not be overloaded.

For routine care:

  • Empty the hamper regularly.
  • Remove dust and loose debris.
  • Wipe appropriate surfaces gently.
  • Avoid soaking woven or fabric components.
  • Allow damp items or cleaned surfaces to dry properly when applicable.

Do not use a storage hamper as a container for hazardous, sharp, leaking, or chemically reactive materials.

6.

Storage Capacity

Every storage product has practical limits based on its size, construction, and intended use.

Avoid overfilling a product simply to maximize storage space.

Overloading may:

  • Distort the product's shape
  • Put unnecessary stress on handles or seams
  • Affect stability
  • Make the product difficult to move
  • Cause premature wear

Review the individual product information for any available capacity or usage specifications.

7.

Handling & Moving

When moving a storage product:

  • Remove heavy contents when practical.
  • Support the product appropriately.
  • Use handles only for their intended purpose.
  • Avoid dragging products across rough surfaces.
  • Do not lift a container beyond what you can safely handle.

For baskets with handles, distribute contents appropriately rather than concentrating excessive weight in one area.

8.

Keeping Products Dry

Unless a specific product is expressly designed for wet environments, avoid prolonged exposure to water or excessive humidity.

If a product becomes wet:

  • Remove its contents.
  • Gently remove excess moisture where possible.
  • Allow the product to air dry completely.
  • Do not store it while damp.

Proper drying can help reduce the risk of lingering moisture and unwanted odors.

9.

Cleaning Products & Chemicals

We recommend using the gentlest appropriate cleaning method for your specific product.

Avoid using:

  • Bleach
  • Strong solvents
  • Abrasive cleaners
  • Aggressive chemical products
  • Rough scrubbing tools

unless the specific product's care instructions expressly state that they are suitable.

Before applying any cleaning product to a visible surface, check the individual product's care instructions.

10.

Preventing Damage

To help preserve your Seshades products:

  • Keep sharp objects away from fabric and woven surfaces.
  • Avoid excessive pulling on handles.
  • Do not overload storage containers.
  • Avoid unnecessary bending or folding where it could damage the product.
  • Keep products away from excessive moisture unless specifically designed for such conditions.
  • Follow the intended use described on the product page.
11.

Storage When Not in Use

If you need to store a Seshades product for an extended period:

  • Empty the product completely.
  • Clean away dust and debris.
  • Make sure it is completely dry.
  • Store it in a clean, dry environment.
  • Avoid placing heavy objects on top of it.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or extreme environmental conditions.

For foldable products, follow the product-specific instructions for folding and storage.

12.

Product-Specific Instructions

This Care Guide provides general recommendations and does not replace product-specific instructions.

Some products may have different materials, construction methods, finishes, or intended uses.

Before cleaning or maintaining a product, check its individual product page and any care instructions included with the item.

If you are unsure whether a particular cleaning method is appropriate, contact Seshades before applying it.

13.

Children & Household Safety

Storage products should be used according to their intended purpose.

Keep potentially hazardous objects, sharp items, chemicals, and other unsafe materials away from children.

Do not allow children to climb on storage products, shelves, baskets, hampers, or organizers.

Hanging organizers and storage products should be installed or positioned appropriately and should not be used as climbing equipment.

14.

Signs of Wear

Regularly inspect products that are frequently handled or moved.

Pay particular attention to:

  • Handles
  • Straps
  • Seams
  • Stitching
  • Structural areas
  • Woven sections
  • Closures or fasteners where applicable

If you notice significant damage or deterioration, stop using the product for its intended storage purpose and contact Seshades if you need assistance.
